Georgia Macmillan is an Australian artist and textiles designer currently residing in Dubai with her young family. The Georgia Macmillan range is a fresh, whimsical collection of digitally printed designs taken from original watercolour artworks by Georgia. Printed onto both French linen and cotton/canvas, the collection is inspired by Georgia’s family holidays in France and Italy as well as her surroundings ‘in the desert’ of the Middle East.
Previously working as a broadcast journalist in Queensland and in luxury PR in Sydney, Georgia took the opportunity, when she moved with her husband and baby daughter Olivia to Dubai in 2013, to return to her love of art and from this was inspired to create a textiles collection.
Georgia Macmillan has since designed and printed four collections and has now printed her first wallpaper collection. The collections reflect the charm and unspoilt beauty of the regions after which they are named: halcyon summer days, sun-bleached stucco on grand villas, gardens of Dubai, the floral motis in Abu Dabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, banks of bougainvillea, hydrangea blues, pastel hued pinks, mint greens and the deep blue water of secluded coves.
