New Lampshades and Cushions
21 July 2016 | General
The exquisite Susan Deliss 'Florentine' lampshades have arrived and are listed on the website under 'Decorative Pieces'. These very special, hand screen printed lampshades are custom made in Italy for Susan and have either a blue or red trim. Elephants, camels and horses parade around the base of the shade with palm trees adding further detail.
Bespoke cushions from the Nicholas Herbert range of hand screen printed and hand woven textiles have also been listed. These fabrics are designed by Nicholas in England and are printed in France. The collection includes the gorgeous silk ikat, Bhukara as well as the lion featured Les Lionets, Ottoman inspired Marmara, versatile Marianne in indigo and pretty Kalamitsi. As always, cushions may be custom ordered using any of the fabrics from across the Nicola Lawrence collection. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information or to obtain a quote.
A further collection of pretty, gathered lampshades will be added in the next week or two, with a range of colours and sizes from which to choose.
For those who are interested in the history of furniture, the chair which is partly shown in this image is one of a pair of Prince of Wales Investiture Chairs designed by the Prince of Wales' uncle, Lord Snowdon, for his investiture at Caenarfon Castle, Wales on 1 July 1969. Only 4000 were produced and invited guests had the opportunity of purchasing the chairs after the ceremony. The chairs are certainly of their time in form and I love the colour (stained vermillion so as not to stain the clothes of the dignatories should it rain) and inlaid gilt Prince of Wales heraldic badge (feathers) and motto (Ich Dien - I Serve).
